What is the INFINITy Daily Function Assistant?

The Daily Function Assistant is a service that enables users to be assisted in their daily life activities by means of the Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. The Daily Function Assistant is composed by a set of smart cards that automatize a wide set of functions addressing different challenges such as: communication, orientation (guiding), controlling the mobile phone, etc. The pre-configured smart NFC cards can be naturally scanned by users in order to automatically trigger an action.

Which wristband are we using in the INFINITy project?

A smart wristband is used within INFINITy with a twofold approach.
On one hand, it serves to notify the user when passes near by a Point of Interest within their city. When this happens, the wristband vibrates, informing the users and they have to check their smartphone, as there will be a message associated to the category of the POI that they are passing by.
In addition, it allows to track some additional information about the mobility of the user that will be useful to determine the impact of INFINITy on their daily habits.
The smart wristband that is used within INFINITy project is the Xiaomi Mi Band 4.
